Kristy Richardson,
Children's Director
Kristy is the Director of
Children’s Ministry at
Northside. Her path to
Children’s Ministry has been a
unique one. Kristy was born in
New Orleans, Louisiana, but
spent most of her formative
years in Arkansas.
She attended Vanderbilt
University, earned her degree in
Political Science, and went on
to law school at Chicago-Kent
College of Law. While in
Chicago, she practiced
commercial litigation for two
years at a large downtown law
firm. In 1998, she moved to
Jackson after her husband Gavin
was hired as an English
Professor at Union University.
She practiced civil rights law
for six years while working at
West Tennessee Legal Services.
Whether Children’s Ministry
chose Kristy or whether she
chose it is up for debate.
Regardless, in January 2005,
Kristy ended her legal career
and enthusiastically joined the
Northside staff officially
(after serving twice as the
interim Director of Children’s
Ministry). Kristy has passion
and compassion for children of
all ages and is committed to
bringing the love of Christ to
kids in a fun and energetic way.
She has three very active sons,
Jack, Cameron, and Colin. Kristy
is an avid scrapbooker and
spends a lot of her free time on
the fields and courts while
cheering for her sons in soccer,
baseball, and basketball.
