Rev. Bill McClarin,
Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care
Bill is a “PK” Preacher’s Kid,
born in a parsonage home, in
Kevil, KY., in 1933. He has one
sister, Anne Weber, the wife of
a retired United Methodist
pastor. He is married to Sara
Ramsey McClarin and they have
three children - Phil, Greg and
Rebecca; six grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
Bill retired from the active
ministry in 2000, after 47 years
in pastoral ministry, and he and
Sara moved to Jackson for their
retirement. However, retirement
was not to his liking, so he
became a member of Northside
United Methodist Church, as
Assistant to the Senior Pastor,
for membership and Pastoral
Care. Currently, he is in his
eighth year in this position and
enjoying his work in a rapid
growing church.
He has served on many board,
committees, and agencies in the
Memphis Conference and with the
Board of Discipleship on the
national level. He is an avid
reader oft the Civil War, the
great battles of WWII,
biographies, sports and biblical
characters, as well as a devoted
student of the Bible. He enjoys
Bible teaching, preaching and
caring for a rapidly growing,
exciting church. He is
completing his 55th year in
ministry in 2008.
